Aquaman-Related Series with Online Links: Part 3

Aquaman vol. 6 (2003) 1-39 – This series leads right out of the end of the “Obsidian Age” story arc in JLA & starts with Aquaman switching out his cybernetic harpoon hand for a mystical water hand from the Lady of the Lake.
http://www.comicvine.com/aquaman/4050-9517/
http://www.comicvine.com/aquaman-15-american-tidal-part-1/4000-98286/ <- This started the story called "American Tidal" which centered around Aquaman protecting a newly-submerged San Diego, CA (dubbed "Sub Diego") & its residents who acquired water-breathing abilities.
http://www.comicvine.com/aquaman-16-american-tidal-part-2-down-among-the-de/4000-98287/ <- The Mexican-American “Sub Diego” citizen Lorena Marquez is introduced.
http://www.comicvine.com/aquaman-26-retroverse-one/4000-99435/ <- Lorena Marquez becomes known as the 4th Aquagirl in this issue.
http://www.comicvine.com/aquaman-38-kingdom-lost/4000-120742/ <- This issue ties into both Infinite Crisis & Day of Vengeance as a hostless Spectre, rampaging against all forces of magic, brings destruction to Atlantis! It is later revealed in Titans #15 that this is when Tempest's wife and son, Dolphin & Cerdian, were killed.

Aquaman Secret Files & Origins 2003 (2003) 1

Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis (2006) 40-57 – This was the “One Year Later” Aquaman series with a new version of the character, who was gradually revealed to be a convoluted clone of the original. The original Aquaman accompanies him as his amnesiac mentor under the identity of The Dweller in the Depths. (The numbering for this continues right from Aquaman vol. 6 #39.)

http://www.comicvine.com/aquaman-sword-of-atlantis-50-cold-water/4000-124150/ <- This is where The Dweller in the Depths is killed by a new mysterious enemy called Narwhal.

World War III (2007) 2 – This issue of this mini-series explained how Aquaman had become transformed into The Dweller in the Depths.
Outsiders: Five of a Kind – Metamorpho and Aquaman (2007) 1 – This comic was linked to 4 other “Outsiders: Five of a Kind” one-shots that tell the story of who is picked to be a part of the 2nd roster of Batman’s Outsiders, known to us readers as Batman and the Outsiders vol. 2. This had the new version of Aquaman (Arthur Joseph Curry) from the Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis series, and he didn’t measure up to the task.

Titans (2008) 15 – This is the only issue of this series where Tempest is included (an absence I never understood), & it’s worth noting because it was all about him & ended with him being chosen to rule Atlantis.
His next fateful comics appearance was in Blackest Night #2…

Blackest Night (2009) 2-8 – Starting with #2 of this company-wide crossover event mini-series, Aquaman “family” members have a lot of key moments or featured roles in the story. Mera, especially, gets some spotlight!
http://www.comicvine.com/blackest-night/4050-26266/
http://www.comicvine.com/blackest-night-2-blackest-night/4000-166823/ - This issue is where Tempest is killed by an undead Black Lantern version of Tula/Aquagirl III, his first love. Tempest/Garth is immediately changed into a Black Lantern as well. But, Mera really holds her own, despite all the horror around her.
http://www.comicvine.com/blackest-night-6-blackest-night-part-6/4000-189810/ - This issue is where Mera, among 6 others, are chosen as temporary deputies of the emotional spectrum corps. Mera, in particular, becomes a deputy to Atrocitus as a fellow rage-fueled Red Lantern!
http://www.comicvine.com/blackest-night-8-blackest-night-conclusion/4000-202607/ - This issue, the last of Blackest Night, is where Aquaman, among 11 other heroes & villains, are resurrected through the power of the white energy of life, and Arthur/Orin is reunited with Mera!

Brightest Day (2010) 0-24 – This series features Aquaman (and Mera), Hawkman & Hawkgirl, Deadman, Firestorm (Ronnie Raymond & Jason Rusch combined), and Martian Manhunter primarily.
http://www.comicvine.com/brightest-day-4-thresholds/4000-219509/ - This issue is where Jackson Hyde, who would become known as the 2nd Aqualad, is introduced. (This coincided with the simultaneous introduction of a blond-haired version of the same character in the Young Justice animated series.)
http://www.comicvine.com/brightest-day-10-a-change-is-gonna-come/4000-234621/ - This issue is where Jackson Hyde/Kaldur’ahm is first called Aqualad.
http://www.comicvine.com/brightest-day-20-aquawar-part-two/4000-262594/ -- The 2-part "Aquawar" sub-plot story takes place in Brightest Day #19-20 & finishes with Mera showing the most epic display of her hydrokinesis to date!

Flashpoint (2011) 1-5 – This company-wide crossover event mini-series featured an alternate reality where the entire world was being ravaged by a war that broke out between the Atlanteans & the Amazons. Needless to say, there was a major focus on Aquaman. Its ending led into the new DC Universe continuity, known to us readers as DC Comics New 52 relaunch that started in August/September 2011.
Flashpoint: Emperor Aquaman (2011) 1-3 – This Flashpoint spinoff mini-series focused closely on Aquaman & the Atlanteans.
Flashpoint: Wonder Woman and the Furies (2011) 1 – This shows what led to the war between the Amazons & the Atlanteans. It also includes the only appearance of this alternate reality’s Garth, as he is tragically killed after being framed as Queen Hippolyta’s assassin.

Aquaman vol. 7 (2011) 0, 1-23, 23.1: Black Manta>> – This is the current Aquaman series set in DC’s New 52 continuity. The creative team of Geoff Johns (writer) and Ivan Reis (penciller) propel DC's sea king to the forefront & made this series a top-seller for quite a while, and with good reason! Also, Mera's been by his side from the start of the series too!

http://www.comicvine.com/aquaman-0-underwater/4000-358821/ <- This issue has the 1st appearance of Vulko, who was Aquaman’s trusted Atlantean advisor, pre-Flashpoint. But, in the New 52 DC, he is much different person & is central to a surprise twist in the game-changing story that crosses over with Justice League, called “Throne of Atlantis”!
http://www.comicvine.com/aquaman-14-throne-of-atlantis-prologue/4000-370274/ <- This issue we get the one & only mention (so far) of “Garth”, the Atlantean “purple-eyed boy”, we know & love. I’m still waiting for an actual appearance though… *hint, hint, DC*

This has been far from a comprehensive listing of comics appearances of Aquaman & his "family"! I purposefully did not list his many team books he, Aqualad/Tempest, Aquagirl & more have been a part of, & I haven't even mentioned all of his aquatic allies like Neptune Perkins, Tsunami, Deep Blue, Arion (ancient Atlantean sorcerer), the Sea Devils, Red Torpedo, The Others (pre-Justice League associates introduced in the current Aquaman series) & more!
But, the following links list all appearances of Aquaman, Mera, Aqualad, Aquagirl, and others I've mentioned:
